SILVINA COX MPH, RDN
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Hi, I’m Silvina, welcome! As a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, I combine nutrition and behavioral sciences in my coaching and counseling. With a whole person, non – diet and intuitive eating approach, I help you create sustainable practices that lead you to true health, wellbeing and lasting peace with food and your body!
For over 25 years, I’ve used preventive and integrative nutrition to help clients with a wide range of weight and health challenges. Very early on, I learned that my conventional training of providing weight loss diets and telling people what to eat were not a solution. Not only did diets fail over time, but along the way they caused damage to the body, mind, and spirit. I saw this in my clients’ lives and in my own.
I began using a non-diet approach, which my clients/patients found empowering, doable and, best of all, effective. My work has evolved and is now rooted in Health at Every Size principles (HAES)®. As I incorporate intuitive and mindfulness-based eating practices, clients are able to create healthy relationships with eating and their weight, while making peace with food and their bodies. It turns out that a non-diet is the best diet of all.
MY MISSION IS TO GUIDE AND SUPPORT CLIENTS:
It is my privilege to walk beside you.
If you’re open to a more peaceful and practical approach to your weight and health concerns, let’s talk. I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
MORE ABOUT SILVINA
My purpose is to guide and support people on the path to overall health and wellbeing. In our work together, my clients learn how nutrition works hand in hand with the body and mind, how to develop behaviors that help their health flourish, and how to finally mend their relationship with food and their body.
From clinical experience at the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center and Los Robles Regional Medical Center; to counseling patients and teaching in various settings (Pepperdine University, California State University Northridge and community), my goal is to apply the best practical, evidence-based, nutrition and behavioral practices.
My vast experience and training come together in my private practice where I see clients with various weight and health concerns, and, in my consulting for the renowned County of Ventura Wellness program, where, for over two decades, I’ve been coaching, teaching, crafting programs, and developing recipes for diabetes cooking classes.
I’ve had the privilege of working with wonderful people in many settings, and from all walks of life. I am bilingual and hope to expand my work and courses to Spanish speaking populations.
I am passionate about my family (husband and 3 boys), my work, camping, food and cooking, hiking, yoga, the Sierra Nevada mountains, and protecting mother earth.
It would be my privilege to walk beside you as you rediscover your inner wisdom and make peace with food and your body at last.

WHAT MY CLIENTS ARE SAYING:
Professional, Oxnard, CA
I have been seeing Silvina for many years for different issues I have struggled with. Weight has always been an issue for me, even after having Gastric Bypass surgery 18 years ago. Silvina introduced me to Intuitive Eating and it changed my life and my relationship with food. I no longer diet or obsess about food. I am at a lower weight today than I even was after my surgery and feel so much healthier.
She also helped me learn ways to reduce my stress level and better deal with my situation. Silvina is thoughtful, caring and kind and an extremely knowledgeable, professional.
I am forever grateful to Silvina!

Working with Silvina has changed my life. In my mid-forties and having dieted since age twelve, I was searching for a different approach to help me with my weight concerns. Fortunately, I was drawn to Silvina and her use of the method “Intuitive Eating.” Silvina has since helped me see how dieting and restricting food intake has led to an over-focus on food and caused weight gain, rather than weight loss. She has helped me regulate my eating, learn new behaviors to identify “diet mentality,” and refocus my weight concerns onto well-being. This approach has been extremely effective for me and I attribute my success to Silvina. She is compassionate, understanding, and above all, amazingly adept at healing long-held beliefs related to eating and weight. Silvina’s non-judgmental attitude creates a safe environment to explore weight concerns and disordered eating, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Silvina is instrumental in helping me with my blood sugar control in a caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental way. She has taught me to trust my instincts and not to make decisions based on fear. She has been the key to my success in my health.

For two years I had abdominal pain. I was sent to different medical specialists and had numerous tests. The doctors could not diagnose my problem. My wife suggested I see Silvina. It’s the best thing I did! Silvina suggested I see my doctor and request a specific test. The doctor was then able to diagnose my problem and prescribed short term medication. Thank you, Silvina!
